How to claim lotto prizes in the Philippines
A practical walkthrough of the PCSO prize claim process — from small outlet prizes up to jackpot payouts. Always verify current requirements on pcso.gov.ph before traveling to a branch.
Where to claim based on prize amount
PCSO routes claims to different offices depending on how much you won. Going to the wrong location means a wasted trip.
| Prize amount | Where to claim | What to bring |
|---|---|---|
| Up to ₱5,000 | Any authorized PCSO lotto outlet | Winning ticket only |
| ₱5,001 – ₱300,000 | PCSO branch office (by region) | Ticket + 1–2 valid IDs |
| Above ₱300,000 | PCSO Main Office, Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong or authorized PCSO branch | Ticket + 2 valid IDs + TIN + claim form |
Thresholds and branch assignments are subject to PCSO policy updates. Confirm with your nearest branch before going.
Step-by-step claim process
- 1
Verify the result from official sources first
Check pcso.gov.ph or the official PCSO Facebook page before acting. Results on third-party sites (including this one) are for reference only — your claim is validated against PCSO's own records.
- 2
Keep your ticket safe and intact
The physical ticket is your only claim document. Keep it dry and flat. Do not fold across the barcode or QR code area. Do not write on it. Take a photo immediately as a personal backup, but the original must be presented.
- 3
Prepare your documents
For outlet claims: ticket only. For branch/main office: bring at least 2 government-issued IDs (SSS, UMID, PhilSys, passport, driver's license, voter's ID). For large prizes, you will also need your TIN and a completed PCSO claim form (available at the office).
- 4
Go to the correct office during business hours
PCSO offices are typically open Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (excluding holidays). The PCSO Main Office is at the PCSO Building, 605 Conservatory St., Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City. Branch offices vary by region — find yours on pcso.gov.ph.
- 5
Submit your ticket for validation
Staff will scan your ticket, verify against the official draw database, and issue a claim form for you to fill out. For large prizes this may take longer and require additional review.
- 6
Receive payment
Small prizes (outlet level) are typically paid in cash on the spot. Branch-level prizes may be paid by check. Very large prizes (especially jackpots) may require a processing period and are typically released by check or bank transfer. Withholding tax of 20% applies to prizes over ₱10,000.
Claim deadline
PCSO prizes must be claimed within one (1) yearfrom the draw date. Unclaimed prizes after this period are forfeited and go to PCSO's prize fund. Mark the draw date and set a calendar reminder — especially for jackpots where deliberation may take time.
Tax on winnings
Under Philippine law (NIRC as amended by TRAIN), lotto prizes exceeding ₱10,000 are subject to a 20% final withholding tax. PCSO deducts this automatically before releasing payment — you receive the net amount. You do not need to file a separate tax return for the withheld amount. Consult a CPA or the BIR if you have questions about your specific situation.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Folding or writing on the ticket barcode — this can prevent successful scanning
- Sharing a full photo of your ticket publicly — gives others the barcode to attempt fraudulent claims
- Going to the wrong office for your prize tier (outlet vs. branch vs. main)
- Missing the 1-year deadline, especially for partial wins on multi-game tickets
- Assuming all outlets can pay above ₱5,000 — most can't
- Trusting unofficial "claim agents" offering to process your prize for a fee — PCSO claims are free
